Children

Our Children’s Ministry exists to partner with families in helping children grow in their love for Jesus and their understanding of God’s Word. We don’t view this ministry as “babysitting,” but as a meaningful opportunity to invest in the spiritual lives of your children and help lay a strong foundation for their faith.

We serve children from birth through 5th grade and offer age-appropriate environments designed to meet kids where they are—emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Weekly Opportunities

Nursery (Birth–3 & Potty-Trained)
Our nursery is open every Sunday morning and is located through the glass office entrance and down the hall to the left. This space provides loving, attentive care for our youngest children.

Sunday School (Preschool & Elementary | 9:30–10:15 AM)
Sunday School meets in Pastor Michelle’s office and offers a small, welcoming setting where children can connect closely with their leader, ask questions, and have meaningful conversations about God, the Bible, and His plan for their lives.

Children’s Church (During Main Service)
We believe children are an important part of the church family, so we encourage families to worship together during the first part of our Sunday morning service. After worship and during announcements, children are dismissed to attend Children’s Church in the Children’s Chapel, located down the stairs in the sanctuary foyer.

Children’s Church includes a snack, a fun activity such as a Bible-based craft, game, or icebreaker, and a Bible lesson designed to introduce children to God and strengthen the foundation of their faith. Once a month, we also host Family Sunday, when children remain in the main service with their parents.

Children are always welcome in our worship services, and parents are welcome to keep their children with them if they prefer. Our pastor loves having kids in the service and our church as a whole values their presence in worship.

Leadership

Our Children’s Ministry is led by Pastor Michelle Carden, an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She holds a degree in Children’s Ministry from Southern Nazarene University and has over 10 years of experience serving children and families. She is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who deeply care about the spiritual growth of every child.

Safety & Care

Your child’s safety is very important to us. All volunteers maintain up-to-date background checks, and we always ensure that multiple trained adults are present in each ministry space. Our team receives child safety training and follows clear procedures to provide a secure and loving environment.

A Close-Knit Church Family

One of our greatest strengths is our close-knit church family. With a congregation of about 100 and typically around 20 children on Sunday mornings, we are able to provide meaningful relationships, individualized attention, and strong spiritual support. Our diverse group of children benefits from caring leaders who know them by name and walk alongside them as they grow.
